On 1 March 2016, the Charity Commission published a policy paper entitled, ‘What the Charity Commission expects from trustees in its casework’. This applies to England and Wales and sets out how trustees should engage with the Commission to ensure that issues are resolved quickly. Non-cooperation will be considered as evidence of mismanagement or misconduct.

On 17 March 2016, UUK issued a press release. This stated that its taskforce had concluded that the 22 year old guidelines in the Zellick Report should be reviewed and updated in light of changes in legislation, and in the wider social environment, including the impact of social media. The taskforce will meet again in June 2016, and a final report is expected in autumn 2016.
