How should a ‘for convenience’ contract termination clause be exercised?

As with many legal issues, what may appear at first sight to be a relatively straightforward matter, can produce hidden complications. A number of subscriber enquiries have arisen in relation to the question of termination ‘for convenience’ or ‘at will’ of a contract (in a business to business context) pursuant to a contractual termination provision.

ICO consultation on revised privacy notices code of practice

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched a consultation on its revised privacy notices code of practice.The code is being developed taking into account the revised EU General Protection Regulation, which has been informally agreed and is expected to be formally adopted later in the year. The Regulation sets stricter rules for obtaining consent to data collection and processing, and will require organisations to provide more information to individuals.Responses to the consultation, which is open to organisations and individuals, must be submitted by 24 March 2016.
